Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Jaimini (“we”, “our”, or “us”), operated by Snappy Labs from Bangalore, India, collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use the Jaimini mobile application, the Jaimini web app at astro.jaimini.app, and this website (together, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Account information

Your phone number, which we verify by one-time password, and your name and profile photo if you choose to add them.

Birth details

Your date, time and place of birth, used to calculate your Kundali. If you add family members or a partner for compatibility matching, we store their birth details too. Only add someone else’s details if you are entitled to.

Consultation history

The messages you exchange with an astrologer persona, together with session timing and the charge for each session. See Section 5 for how long we keep this.

Palm photographs

If you use palmistry, the photo of your hand is uploaded, analysed, and then discarded. We do not store your palm image. Only the resulting text reading is saved to your account.

Voice notes

If you send a voice note, the audio is transmitted for speech-to-text transcription, and the audio file is deleted immediately afterwards. We do not store your voice recordings. Only the resulting text transcript enters the chat.

Payment information

Transaction amounts, dates, order identifiers and wallet balance. We never see or store your card number, UPI PIN, or bank credentials. Payment is handled entirely by our payment gateway.

Usage and device data

Which features you open, session length, in-app events, device model, operating system version, app version, and anonymous device identifiers.

Crash diagnostics

When the app crashes, our crash reporting collects a stack trace and device state so we can fix the fault.

• Calculate your Kundali, Dasha timeline, Panchang, compatibility score and daily horoscope
• Produce your readings and chat replies, grounded in your own chart
• Transcribe voice notes you send, and analyse palm photographs you upload
• Bill your wallet per minute of consultation and keep an accurate transaction record
• Send you push notifications if you grant permission, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings
• Diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and understand which features people actually use
• Detect fraud and abuse, including abuse of free-credit and referral offers
• Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your birth details or consultation history with advertisers or data brokers.

Running the Service means relying on a small number of specialist providers. They act as our processors: they may use your data only to perform the service we have engaged them for, never for their own purposes. By category, they are:

• Technology that generates your readings. Producing a reading involves your birth chart and the text of your question being processed by the systems behind our AI astrologers.
• Speech-to-text. Voice notes are transcribed, then the audio is discarded.
• Payment processing. Wallet top-ups are handled by a licensed payment gateway, which holds your payment credentials under its own privacy policy. We never see them.
• Hosting and storage. The cloud infrastructure your account and your charts live on.
• Notifications, analytics and crash reporting. Delivering push notifications, understanding which features are used, and diagnosing faults.

Because some of these providers operate globally, your data (including your birth details and the text of your consultations) may be processed on servers outside India.

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or of Jaimini.

• Chat messages and consultation history are retained for as long as your account exists. They are not automatically deleted after a fixed period. They are deleted when you delete your account.
• Birth details, charts, reports and saved readings are kept until you delete them in the app, or until you delete your account.
• Palm photographs and voice recordings are not retained at all. They are discarded as soon as they have been analysed or transcribed.
• Payment and transaction records are anonymised and retained after account deletion. The amounts, dates and order identifiers stay in our ledger, detached from your identity, because we are required to keep accurate financial records.
• A privacy-preserving tombstone. After deletion we keep a one-way hash of your phone number. It contains no personal information, and exists solely to stop deleted accounts being recreated to farm free credits repeatedly.
• Crash and analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider’s standard retention periods.

We take the following measures:

• Encryption in transit for everything sent between your device and us
• Your sign-in token is held in your device’s secure storage, not in ordinary app storage
• Access controls limiting which of our systems and people can reach personal data
• Payments are verified on our servers, so the app can never dictate what is credited to a wallet
• Device-level backups of the app’s data are disabled

You have the right to:

• Access, request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct, update your name, photo and birth details in the app at any time
• Delete, delete your account and associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app, or via our account deletion page. Please read Section 5 for the two narrow things we keep.
• Withdraw consent, turn off push notifications, or stop using the Service, at any time

Jaimini’s astrologers are AI personas of real astrologers. Each one is modelled on a practising Vedic Jyotishi: their speciality, their method, and the way they read a chart.

The outputs are automated. Your chat replies, your personal report, your daily horoscope and your palm reading are generated by the AI persona, not written by a person at the moment you ask.

Automated outputs can be inaccurate or inconsistent, and the same question may be answered differently on another day. They are provided for guidance and reflection, and do not constitute professional advice. Please use your own judgement.

Jaimini is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has given us their data, contact us at support@jaimini.app.

This website uses cookies only for analytics, which collect aggregated, non-identifying usage data about how pages are used. You can opt out through your browser settings.

The Jaimini mobile app does not use browser cookies. The Jaimini web app uses local browser storage to keep you signed in.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the revised policy.
